Event Summary

Pan Caribbean Partnership against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP) and the Latin American and Caribbean Regional Network (LAC) will host the Regional Consultation on the Global Fund’s Strategy 2023.

As the Global Fund is now half-way through the implementation of its current strategy, it has commenced the process of developing its 2023 strategy. This new strategy will demonstrate how the Global Fund aims to contribute to the achievement of the 2030 goals for HIV, Tuberculosis (TB), Malaria, and other health issues as set out in Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3). The Global Fund is asking stakeholders for their input on what the focus and role of the Global Fund should be to achieve these aims. The LAC Regional Platform is organizing three sub-regional consultations in Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

The objectives of the consultations are to:

1) discuss collective priorities for the post-2022 strategy, and
2) identify concrete recommendations to include in the strategy development process.

Civil society must play an integral role in this process which decides the future of the Global Fund initiatives in our region as well as define the critical role of civil society organizations in the years to come. The consultation session will be held on Tuesday 24 November 2020, from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM GYT.

The consultation will be facilitated by Kennedy Carrillo, Caribbean Liaison, LAC Regional Platform.
