Dr Dos Santos is a virology specialist. He completed his PhD in Paris, France and joined the University Hospital of Martinique in 1997. He developed molecular management of HIV drug resistance for clinical purposes and participated in WHO surveys of HIV drug resistance in Haiti and OECS countries. In addition to his continuing interest in HIV treatment and drug resistance, his research interests are focused on surveillance of arboviruses and emergent pathogens to gain knowledge on their introduction and circulation in the Caribean era.
