Asa E. Radix, MD, PhD, MPH is originally from Grenada and is Chief Physician of the Adult Transgender Team at Landspítali – The National University Hospital of Iceland, Associate Professor of Epidemiology at Columbia University, and Clinical Professor of Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Previously, they served as Vice President of Research and Education at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in New York City, where they provided HIV and primary care for more than two decades.

A board-certified internist and infectious disease specialist, Dr. Radix has more than 30 years of experience in HIV medicine. Their clinical and research expertise includes HIV treatment and prevention, transgender health, sexual health, and health disparities. Their work has focused particularly on improving HIV prevention and care for transgender and gender-diverse communities and developing culturally responsive models of care.

Dr. Radix has contributed to national and international HIV guidance, research, education, and implementation efforts, including work with the U.S. HIV treatment guidelines. They remain actively engaged in strengthening the HIV response in the Caribbean through training and technical collaboration. Dr. Radix is also President of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
