Summary

This is a report of an event organized by the Delegation of NGOs of developing countries of the Global Fund Board. A one day workshop on the funding for Health in Latin America and the Caribbean: Strategies for the promotion of effective mobilization of resources brought together more than 35 participants from 17 countries of the LAC region.

The workshop focused on the discussion about the importance of advocacy for the fifth meeting on the replenishment of the Global Fund and possible strategies to ensure an effective defence. At the same time, the LAC region is getting ready for a transition, as many countries are becoming ineligible to receive GF funding. As such, the success of the next replenishment is extremely important to support sustainable and properly funded transitions.
