Diploma in the Management of HIV Infection at the University of West Indies, ST. AUGUSTINE CAMPUS.
This novel UWI Faculty of Medical Sciences programme aims to improve the clinical management and the quality of life of those living with HIV through a flexible, modern, student oriented, evidence based approach to training. In the Caribbean, an estimated 250.000 persons are living with HIV (UNAIDS 2013 Global Fact Sheet).
The University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine Campus has partnered with the International Training and Education Center for Health (l-TECH), University of Washington, Seattle, USA, to create the Diploma in the Management of HIV Infection. This one year, part-time professional certificate programme is designed to be delivered through a series of online, self-paced courses to accommodate participants who are midcareer working professionals. Participants view pre-recorded weekly lectures and videos, listen to podcasts, complete assigned readings and cases, as well as participate in lively discussions via the course website. They will also have an opportunity to meet each other and the course lecturers by weekly synchronous Virtual Classroom.
Is online learning right for you?
