The key policy issues to be advocated in capacity-building are -


  • Broader involvement of tertiary institutions other than the University of the West Indies (UWI) in the regional response;
  • Integration of  HIV capacity-building initiatives in national teacher training and other professional programmes in the public and private sectors;
  • Involvement of nurses, doctors and other professionals working in the private sector in CHART training; and
  • Development of a research agenda, including academic and operational or health services research.
